Saxons Old Boys Rugby
JUNIOR RUGBY
There will be a Junior Boys rugby registration and practice Sunday May 31st at 2pm at CDCI East field.
All male players wishing to play rugby this summer should attend with their rugby gear. To facilitate the registration process please bring your completed registration form (signed by parent/gaurdian) and your dues.

Saxon Women:
The Saxon women travelled to Markham and waged a hard fought battle however, they ended up on the losing side of a 22-5 final score. Despite starting the game a player short, the Saxons still managed to draw first blood with Tori Sawatski scoring a try for an early 5-0 lead. Due to injuries, the Saxon women found themselves playing 3 players short, and if it were not for the strength of the remaining players on the field the score could have been far more lopsided. Player of the game for the Saxons was Brittany Douglas.
Saxons Men's 1st XV:
The Saxon men's 1st XV travelled to Orillia to play the Dingoes. The game featured two strong hard hitting teams, both undefeated to this point. The Saxons jumped out to an early lead but found themselves in a close game as it progressed. Early in the second half tempers boiled over, resulting in the Saxons being penalized and having to play the beginning of the half a man down. The game showcased the skills of the teams new South African import, Dylan Lourens, who was instrumental in almost all the Saxons points on the day. Lourens narrowly missed a penalty kick from half. The kick was dead on, however barely fell short bouncing off the cross bar of the uprights. The final score was Orillia 23 Saxons 21. Dylan Lourens was awarded man of the match.
Saxons Men's 2nd XV:
The men's seconds travelled to the beaches in Toronto to square off against Toronto Scottish 4ths. This game was one sided as the Saxons dominated the Scottish. The final score of 49-5 in favour of Cobourg. The Saxons' scoring was shared across the entire squad.
IRB introduces Experimental Laws
A new set of laws are being introduced this season. The purpose of these laws is an attempt to speed up transitional play in the game. Pleases view the following link to review these law changes.
Training
The Cobourg Saxons senior men's and women's practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm.
Practices are held at CDCI East high school field. Please see the map for directions to the pitch and to the social at Kelly's Home Like Inn.
